Research on Swiss wood

Even since ancient times Swiss wood has always been highly regarded, it was never used as firewood because it produced a very strong scent and so was used to make furniture and furnishings. It soon became apparent that clothes stored in wardrobes made from Swiss pine were kept better. This wood's scent was also well-known as a natural sedative and so cots and infant beds were made from it.
Only a few years ago, farmer's insight regarding this wood was proved scientifically thanks to studies carried out by the University of Graz and the Joanneum Research Institute in Weiz-Austria. Various studies about sleep have shown that people who slept in a bed made of Swiss pine felt more vital and more rested the following day.
In addition, thanks to the Swiss pine it was noted that there was a reduction of 3500 heartbeats per day, despite the negative influence of physical or mental stress. In fact the positive effects gained were so extensive that people who were normally affected by the weather were no longer affected.
